4 Lesson on Room Acoustics from Our New Studio
Our new falkemedia Podcast and Production Studio is ready! And thanks to HOFA’s help, it’s not just good – it’s top-notch, both visually and acoustically. In this article and video, we explain what we did with the space and why, so that it now sounds professional. And there’s something for everyone to learn – even if your studio is already up and running!
From „Meh“ to MOJO – with one click! WA Production Obsidian
Not every sound needs rescuing. Sometimes it’s just missing that certain something. Our software highlight, Obsidian, is a standalone multi-effect that delivers exactly that: More movement, more colour, more sonic tension. Instead of fumbling through effect chains, you control the character directly via the X/Y Pad, Mix Control and Spectral Delay. This lets you transform unspectacular synths, basses or vocals into tracks with bite, depth and mojo in no time at all.
Test: ASM Leviasynth – Why it’s the NAMM winner
With the Leviasynth, Ashun Sound Machines has not only carried forward the legacy of the Hydrasynth, but radically expanded it. As a 16-voice powerhouse, the Leviasynth combines an entirely new “Algorithmic Engine” with the
warmth of classic analog circuitry.
Discovered: Panic Girl & i u we – Welcome to the modular world
I u we‘s compilation-tapes go by the name of “connected”. That pretty much says it all, because for this Munich-based label, everything revolves around modular synths and creative friendships that are as tightly intertwined as cables and jacks in a patchbay. And yet, the platform and its founder started on a very small scale. Literally
You may have caught wind of it in the news over the past few weeks: In an unprecedented move, Spotify alone deleted over 75 million tracks from its platform. The reason? Massive “AI spam.” We’re not talking about that cool track where someone used an AI tool for vocal processing. We’re talking about soulless background noise generated by algorithms in factories to rake in royalties through fake accounts.
The fact that the major streaming players are finally pulling the emer gency brake here is, for us as real producers, a reason to breathe a sigh of relief for now. A signal: The “digital landfill” is being cleared to make room again for what actually drives us – real creativity.
But the development goes a decisive step further. While the platforms are deleting content, policymakers are preparing for August 2026. That’s when the EU AI Act will fully come into effect, mandating clear labeling requirements for AI-generated content. What may initially sound like bureaucratic red tape actually marks a historic turning point: the distinction between “generated content” and “created art.”
It means that your own signature sound is more important than ever. Don’t rely solely on the presets that everyone has. Dare to record your own samples, and bend your analog trea sures or digital emulations so that they no longer sound standard. Use AI as an assistant to speed up your workflow, but keep the reins in your own hands.
Stay creative and make music!
Give your synths, basses, or vocals more bite and depth with our full version of W. A. Production Obsidian. This unusual multi-effect is more than its looks might suggest and adds excitement and color to your mix. We’ve also included 4,000 fat drum samples and 200 kits in Wave Alchemy’s TRIAZ Player as another highlight of this issue.
With the Bass Machine Expansion for our Zampler and all current Akai MPC models (except the MPC Sample), 128 patches unleash a veritable storm of bass, packed with synth and acoustic basses.
With a diverse selection of sample packs totaling 6 GB, we’re helping you expand your sound library even further. Stylistically, these samples and loops are particularly well-suited for house, garage, tech house, techno, and drum ‘n’ bass. You can also incorporate ready-made chord sequences as MIDI files directly into your club hit hooklines.
